Sandboxels Alchemy Mod Guide

Start with air, dirt, fire and water, unlock the rest by reacting them, and keep a notebook of what worked — and what did not.

Introduction

Alchemy (alchemy.js, by R74n) is a progression mod: you start with only four elements and unlock more by reacting them together. The official listing adds, honestly, that most combinations are not possible. That is the game — discovery by trying, not by following a complete recipe list.

Your starting four

Air, dirt, fire and water. Everything else is hidden until you discover it. The mod's own code, visible in the public repository, starts with exactly those four unlocked, and the rest are hidden until a reaction unlocks them.

How to play it well

  1. Try pairs systematically, not randomly. Pick one element, try it against each unlocked element, and note what happens.
  2. When something unlocks, stop and learn what the new element does before chasing the next unlock.
  3. Keep a personal notebook of combinations that worked and combinations that did nothing. The second list is just as valuable — it stops you repeating dead ends.
  4. Do not look up a complete solution and then claim you discovered it. The fun of alchemy is the discovery loop itself.

What alchemy does to the menus

Alchemy hides most elements and groups the rest under an alchemy category until they are discovered. If you enable it alongside other mods, expect menu changes — test alchemy alone first, so you know what it does on its own.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many elements can I unlock?

The listing does not give a total, and this site will not invent one. Discovery is the point.

Can I use alchemy with other mods?

Test it alone first. Its hiding and categorising behaviour can interact with other mods.

I am stuck. What should I do?

Revisit pairs you have not tried, and check the mod's repository notes — but do not expect a complete recipe list here.
